Digestion & Gut Health 101 - Sufficient Bile

As I discussed in my last post, we get used to symptoms that we come to think of as usual, but they are not. We are digging into digestion this month, and this post is all about low bile output. Another root cause of digestion issues.

You can read about the symptoms in Post 1. A lot of digestion symptoms are similar for the different root causes; this is why it is so essential to work with a practitioner that can help you sort out what is causing your symptoms.

Why is sufficient bile necessary?

-we need bile to be able to breakdown (emulsify) fats

-not only that but bile helps us to absorb fats, think all your healthy fats and fat-soluble vitamins; without bile, we can not utilize these.

-many waste products need bile to be able to leave the body -we need bile to remove excess cholesterol and also without sufficient bile; our bodies will make more cholesterol (HELLO reason for high cholesterol, remember, cholesterol is always high for a reason, and it is most often not due to dietary cholesterol)

-bile helps us absorb calcium and iron (are you anemic or calcium deficient)
